Poem Inspiration:

As a lawyer about to be called to the Nigerian Bar, I have witnessed many discrepancies in society when it comes to equity and fairness. Justice often appears to favor the rich over the poor, which is far from the purpose it is meant to serve. I draw inspiration for my writing (both articles and poetry) largely from my personal experiences. This poem was inspired by my conviction that the ideals of justice and strong institutions cannot be fully realized until we all rise, speak out, and demand better. It is a call to action and a reflection of the realities I have observed.

How they discovered their passion for poetry and word art:

When I was a teenager, I was always eager to write poetry, but fear held me back. This fear stayed with me until I finished secondary school. Eventually, I met a friend who challenged me to write a poem titled Shambala, inspired by the popular wool wristband of that time. I can still remember the first four lines of that poem vividly. Since then, I have never been afraid to write, and I remain grateful to my friend for that turning point.
