My poem, “A Fulfilled Life”, centers on the themes of inspiration, youthful aspiration, and purposeful living. It celebrates the power of mentorship and the beauty of a life devoted to learning, humility, and impact. Through the life of Mr. Reuben Oluwafunmi Bashorun, the poem reflects how one person’s consistency and wisdom can inspire younger generations to dream boldly, work hard, and live meaningfully.

Poem Inspiration:

This poem was inspired by Mr. Reuben Oluwafunmi Bashorun, a writer and leader I had the privilege to meet during a program where he encouraged students to stay focused and never give up. At that time, I was struggling with self-doubt about my academics, even though I was doing well, I felt it wasn’t enough. Listening to him reminded me that consistency and effort matter more than perfection. His words renewed my motivation, and I soon began to see positive changes in my results. Writing this poem was my way of honoring him and expressing how his life and message inspired me to keep pushing toward excellence.

How long have they been writing poems:

I've been writing poems since my secondary school days, it's been about six years now

How they discovered their passion for poetry and word art:

Things got hard for me while I was in school, and it wasn’t something I could easily share with anyone. One day, I decided to pour my feelings into poetry, and after writing, I felt calm — like a weight had lifted. From that moment, I began to find solace and satisfaction in words, and that’s how my passion for poetry began.
