Final Year Reflections: Embracing The Future

It centers on reflection and transition—looking back on how the journey started, appreciating the growth along the way, and preparing to step into a new phase of life.

Poem Inspiration:

A send-forth program was organized for the final year students in my fellowship, and it made me pause to reflect. I began to think about how they must feel—knowing they are about to leave the familiarity of undergraduate life. Then I traced their journey in my mind: how it all began, the experiences in between, and now, the reality of coming to the end of that phase. Out of that reflection, this poem was birthed.

How they discovered their passion for poetry and word art:

I discovered my passion for word art when I was about 10 years of age. I always loved to listen to good music as a child, so I started composing lyrics to my own songs. I did little writings in secondary school and in 2023, I came up with a piece (poem).
