About OKORO AMARACHI ANASTASIA 's work:

Poem Title:

MY NAME IS NAIJA

Poem Theme:

My country; Nigeria

Poem Inspiration:

This poem was inspired by my love for Nigeria and my refusal to let others define her. I wanted to capture the wound of colonial division, the pride in our culture, and the stubborn hope that refuses to die. It was my way of answering back, reclaiming the story of a nation that is so much more than its scars.

How long have they been writing poems:

I have been writing poems for more than a decade.

How they discovered their passion for poetry and word art:

I discovered my passion for poetry and the arts gradually, through my love for literature, art, music, nature, and storytelling. Since I was little, poetry has been a space where I can lay bare my thoughts without filtering them. For me, it is a force that unfolds every bit of who I am, and a unique way to change my world and add color to it. I don't just write; I bleed.

Also, watching other spoken word artists perform has also inspired and fueled my passion for spoken word. It gave me the courage to express myself and to turn thoughts into something people could feel, something that stays with them.
